Description

* 2025 promotion: A pair of birch hardwood stand in same style and high gloss piano finish will be offered with speaker purchased. 5 pairs available and this promotion is valid as long as you see this announcement.

Crystal-6 is till now our best full range in the metal cone family and is an All-rounder, unlike paper cone drivers that are very advantageous in musical, artistic music but short in dynamic or complicated music, you can use Crystal-6 to play rock or orchestra meanwhile expecting and deep and punchy bass that you won’t believe from a 6.5″ unit. With innovative design that almost eliminated metal shout, it’s a no-question choice for modern style full range lovers.

We put a lot of efforts in developing this bookshelf speaker to let people enjoy what Crystal-6 can do without having headache in space or movability. It can easily be your main speaker in listening room with limited space, or sub speaker for other rooms or casual listening. Made in piano factory, these speakers not only have top tier piano finish, but also profited from knowledge of their tuners to sound even better.

There is only one thing you might need to take into account: they need excessive breaking in. This is the only model that we will do 50 h breaking in before packing because they are shouty in the first period, character that many owners of Crystal-6 might already have known, but after 50 hours they will start to rapidly sound better in a very audible way that can prove you why breaking in is not a myth. When fully broken in, as many visitors to our listening room have commented, these belong to one of the best bookshelf speakers they’ve ever heard. And the last person who said this insisted in buying the demo pair in our listening room yesterday (2024/sep/23) regardless our explanation that brand new ones are better fabricated…

Here-below is a very detailed testimonial, kindly shared by Tyler Entrekin, one of our first YUN C-6 users:

“I wanted to take some time to write a bit more in depth about my experience with the YUN C-6 speaker. In my setup, I have the Decware ZP3 Phono State, ZMF/Decware OTL (a collaborative OTL headphone amplifier, and the Decware Taboo MK IV. The Taboo is special because it is a true single-ended pentode design amplifier, which I believe has some lovely characteristics of extended top and bottom end, with the right speakers. I also own a pair of the (now discontinued) Decware T6 speakers. I know Decware speaks highly of Lii Song, and I had originally hoped to one day purchase a pair of the Lii Song Origin speakers, but I live in a small condo/apartment, and space was an issue. I read through a lot about efficient speakers, and what they can do with SET/SEP amplifiers, and I was excited at the prospect of having a really good pair of speakers one day. Then, I found the Lii Song website last year, and I stumbled across the YUN C-6 with metal speaker cone. This design seemed on the outside to look similar to other bookshelf/box type speakers, but the piano finish was gorgeous. My only reservation was on the metal cone material – I had never encountered this before, so I set out to do some research. I read everything I could find on them, and then I found some videos Lii Song had posted of breaking in a new pair, and they sounded good. Then, I also realized that Decware had put the crystal 6 metal cone into their corner horn flagship design speakers in the demo room at Decware, and I decided to purchase them. The value proposition was too good to pass up. I did my homework, and I knew that Lii Song was up front with customers that the cone and speaker for the YUN C-6 needed excessive burn in. I would estimate these speakers now have about 250 hours of time on them, after purchasing them last year (2024).
Because of my space, I tend to listen between 60-88db levels, in near-field listening, often much closer than most people likely do (between 5-6 feet). This puts me in a different position than many audiophiles, but I want to be up front so others who may one day read this can understand the setup. When I first hooked up and began to use these speakers, they sounded excellent. In fact, I was blown away by how good they were in comparison to the T6 speakers I have. The T6 is a paper cone, and it has a very clean, clear sound, with high clarity and detail. But the YUN C-6 speaker was, in my experience, at least equal to the T6 in clarity, range and detail. However, after several months of enjoyable listening, I found that the YUN C-6 burned in and changed in subtle ways – the clarity, range and detail were all there, but it had improved in some ways. Initially, when using it, the YUN could be a bit shouty or distorted in the highs, and the bass was tight and detailed, but did not seem to have as much punch as I had hoped it would. But after several months and hours on the speakers, those tendencies disappeared completely. Now, even if I turn the volume beyond my normal listening levels, there is a complete absence of sharpness or distortion in the highs, and the bass has so much punch, I can feel it vibrate in the floor (without losing the control and detail, which is no small feat). I don’t know how this is even possible with a metal cone, but what I can also say, is there seems to be something special added to the sound of the metal material in the YUN, or perhaps in the driver design or box design – but the sound that comes from the YUN has more magic, flavor and sparkle in it then the paper cone speakers I have listened to, including my T6 speakers. Don’t get me wrong – my other speakers sound very good, but I have myself hooked up with the YUN speakers as my preferred sound, regardless of musical variety or type. I listen to everything from rock music, electronic, classical, vocal, and even some early century band music composition and new age music. All of it sounds phenomenal on the YUN C-6.
